People say that the only critical line of the Sicilian Dragon is the Yugoslav Attack. All others give black "easy equality", "no trouble", etc.
Yet in practice it is not so clear-cut and simple. I have lost pretty much every Sicilian game I've played. I have not faced the Yugoslav Attack once, though I've studied up on that one. I know, I must be doing something wrong, but what is that "something"?
I will now list the lines I have been facing often.
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.Bb5!?
I have faced this line probably more often than any of the other sidelines. Please give your recommendation as to what to play against this setup. The two setups I was considering employing are the following:
Setup #1:
Setup #2:
Setup 2 simply ignores the Bc4 and goes about bussiness normally.
Which one do you recommend?
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Be3 Bg7 7.Be2
I have faced this the second most often. What do you recommend against this same-side castling scenario. What are Black's best, and most effective, plans? I have lost every game with this as Black.
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.Bb5+
This is the position I get the third most often. I've already asked for advice regarding what to do as Black in a previous thread. But, it can't hurt to ask again ... here, do you prefer Nd7, Bd7, or Nc6? Also, after each of those moves, which plans should Black pursue?
Thank you very much for your time and attention. I would really appreciate it if you could take just a little bit of time and explain this to me, and give me your recommendations. It would be wholeheartedly appreciated, and received with the utmost gratitude.
Thanks!
