Sort of an Anti-Grunfeld

I've been playing this 4.Qc2 line (1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nf3 Bg7 4.Qc2 d5 5.cxd5 Nxd5 6.e4) against Grunfeld players. It's really a KID, but Grunfeld players keep throwing in d5, trying to transpose, I guess. I'm only about a 1700 in rapid, but I've been doing pretty well with this thing, even defeating a few 1900+ players. Is this line sound, or are these guys just getting caught off guard?

   Here's an example.......

"Is this line sound" ++ No, it commits the queen too soon

"are these guys just getting caught off guard?" ++ Yes, apparently so.

4 Qc2 d5 5 cxd5 Bf5 wins a tempo.

That sounds about right: the move is not that good, and my opponents aren't playing very well, either.

Yeah, 5...Bf5 was one of the usual replies I got. After 6.Qa4+ Nbd7 7.Nc3 O-O 8.Qb3, I got an okay position, but I think black is still better.

   Thanks.
