Hey everyone.
I'm about 1800 USCF, and I've tried pretty much everything under the sun against e4. I've played many sicilians, tried the French, the Caro Kann, even the Pirc, but nothing has felt right. So recently, I finally got over my irrational dislike for 1...e5, and realized that I really like the positions that come from it. I got the book "The Open Games with Black" by Martin Lokander, which has been wonderful, and have been using the series on the Schliemann here at chess.com to learn a response to the Roy Lopez.
These are great resources, and I have been thoroughly and diligently taking every page and converting it by hand to PDF's on Scid, stored in my computer, but now I'm looking at about 35-40 Kb of pgn's.
I want to, over a period of time, commit all these lines to memory. I was hoping some of you might have ideas or tips on how to do that. Where to start, how to space things out. I really don't want to hear "you should just play not memorize" cause I'm hitting the point where I think memorizing deeply will serve me well for the rest of my life in chess.
Thanks for any study ideas you come up with!!!
