The Catalan is something which goes perfectly with c4 in your reproitore in fact I play 1.c4, the Catalan and the Reti. Also I study the opening for at least 30 minutes before playing a good game with it. And lastly I also test it out in blitz before taking it to a good game

I figured it would complement 1c4 well. 30 mins is quick theres so many lines in the catalan lol Iv studied 11 out of 1047 so far LOL

How can you get bored? Professional players play and study the same opening much much more and do not get bored. A general rule is that you need to lose 3 games with a new opening.
