I'm in for the challenges, and I would favor @ThrillerFan or @verylate over myself for Team Captain, since I'll have my hands full managing the overall round-robin.
The Advance Variation is a good option for white, I've had good luck with it. You need strong knight play and a good understanding of the open files, though.

I am currently playing in the Chicago Open and it feels like I am playing a Advance French thematic. I have had 4 of them thus far. Should have lost rounds 2 and 5 and should have won round 4. Time trouble killed me. One round to go and then I will be logging on again more frequently:
Rd 1 - Black - Advance French - 1/2-1/2
Rd 2 - White - Advance French - 1/2-1/2
Rd 3 - Black - Queen's Gambit Accepted - 0-1
Rd 4 - Black - Advance French - 1-0
Rd 5 - White - Advance French - 1/2-1/2
Rd 6 - White - Closed Sicilian - 1/2-1/2

The thing is in correspondence games on chess.com you are allowed to use databases that don't involve engine interaction or even books or dvds. So don't worry for the theory.
I think we would compare these ratings to thriller's cause they're close and determin who'd be on B1 and B2, the rest should be pretty clear

@verylate - The Board order is completely at the Team Captain's discretion. I'm sure either you or @ThrillerFan will make a fair judgment of playing strength, and you can consider strength-in-the-opening rather than outright rated strength, as there can be a material difference (and is at least in @ThrillerFan 's case, I wouldn't dare enter the French against him).
In any case, consider the role of Team Captain to be dictatorial in nature. This way we avoid any wrangling for position.

What are the responsibilities?
Just to set the board order prior to each match, from the roster of players who have confirmed membership on this thread. If there are more than 7 players, you decide who sits out each match. You may change the order and make substitutions between matches.
