The Black defenses to 1.d4, 1.Nf3 and 1.c4

Sort:
gik-tally

I DESPISE closed games and either side of a fianchetto. I've looked DECADES for the englund gambit > hartlaub charlick gambit! 1.d4 e5!? 2.dxe5 d6 3.exd6 Bxd6

I FANTASIZED about a "non-existant" gambit that gets rid of my e&d pawns for mobility and gives me the initiative that slav-walling doesn't. there's my "stystem" for ANYTHING but 1.e4 and the grob, and I DESPISE it! effing NO FUN straightjacket it is!

I DO have a 1.e4 system combining the similar gedult blackmar diemer gambit for scandinavians, the alapin diemer gambit french and ESPECIALLY the mieses gambit I started playing by ACCIDENT confusing it with the 3.Be3 ADG and kicking way more butt than with the maroczy fantasy variation.

I love semi open f files with quick knight to f and bishop to c, which all three gambits do with their f3 pushes and as a king's gambiteer, those lines are as close to that too as possible

Hi! My approach would be: first choose a main defense against 1. d4. Then if the opponent plays a Flank Opening like 1. c4 you try to adopt a defense with a similar setup to the one against 1. d4. I have a blog where I wrote a bit about the subject. If you are interested, feel free to check it out! Here is the link to a postabout a complete repertoire based on Chebanenko Slav against 1...d5: https://www.chess.com/blog/maafernan/a-solid-opening-repertoire-for-speed-chess

Good luck!

You realize that white just declines d6 and is better, right?

What if 1.d6 and if 2.Nf6 then KID transposition?

Tarrasch against all sounds like a very good choice.

Doesn’t that block the rook

Dutch defense is what I play

1... e6 can be played against practically anything. Against 1.d4 e6 black has QG, Dutch, Nimzo Indian, QI. 1.e4 e6 you have French, Sicilian, 1. c4 e6 you are offering a QG or Anglo Dutch, 1.Nf3 e6 is non commital and allows white to chose a line or allow black flexibility later.

f5 works against d4 c4 and Nf3, that’s what I play
Chess16723
General setup is f5, Nf6, e6, Be7, O-O and then play for e5 via d6 and Nc6
Works against almost anything (not EVERYTHING because of silly gambits)
