A sort of weird opening that people should know about or else get pretty lost and eventually lost.

i have played this sequence and won many times as white. the black king seems like too much of a liability in the middle. even if black gets the fork, he will spend many moves trying to secure his king and it may lead to a bad endgame for him. Please correct me if i have erred in judgement.

Well, I was just saying that black isn't in that bad of a situation.  It may take a few moves to get into it but I was really looking at white's next couple of moves.

Hmm, according to everything I have learnt about the Two Knight's Defence, 5...Nxd5 is an error and the resulting attack by 6.Nxf7 (6.d4 is supposed to be very good as well) is considered the refutation.

Instead Black should play 5...Na5 6.Bb5+ c6 7.dxc6 bxc6, where he has got ample compensation for the pawn and theory suggests he is actually already slightly better.

Notice how I said that earlier.  Black should play the 5... Na5 line of moves cause it really is better.  I also like Blackburne Gambit which is amazingly awesome especially if you don't like being black in a standard e4, Nf3 ,Bc4

Now of course this is a horrible player as whit but this is what could happen.  I like to defend against it by 3. c3 or even 3. Nxc3

i was under the impression that black is technically fine in the fried liver, but it's almost impossible not to make a mistake in the resulting position which involves some weird unintuitive moves.  I think a computer would come out of it ok though.  Maybe someone could try it engine vs engine.  Laughing

I enjoy playing d4 against Nxd5.  I once had a game with 5 pins with the Fried Liver

Yeah, this topic should be called Fried Liver Discussion
