The sacrifice leads to interesting play, where white should have compensation for the sacrificed material after 9.Rd1. 7.Qf3 however, was not a good move since black could play 7...Ne5 and white has to part with the bishop pair. Normal development with 7.Nc3 would have maintained a stable edge.
