1.e4 "best by test" R.J Fischer
What is the best opening for the white?

It's either a3, a4, b3, b4, c3, c4, d3, d4, e3, e4, f3, f4, g3, g4, h3, h4, Na3, Nc3, Nf3, or Nh3. I guarantee one of those first moves is the best.

You forgot 1. Kxe8#

It depends on your playing stye
if you are tactical player, or/and loves computing variations play semi open games, like e4
If you are strategist, that is you know when knight excels over bishop (or vice versa), you love squeezing a favorable endgames open with semi closed games, like d4, or c4 or nf3
but if you are just beginning to learn the game, I recommend e4 to invite sharp and tactical games, and sharpen your tactical and calculation, you will probably lose lots of game against more experienced players, but thats the point, try to learn something from them.

Well, it depends a lot on what black does. Unless black does something silly, I believe the best openings for white are the queen's gambit declined and the ruy lopez.

In the words of Roman Dzindzi himself:
"A lot of people ask me what are the best openings. There are no best openings. If there were a best opening, then nobody would play any other openings. But there are bad openings. Bad openings for white, and bad openings for black."
So it's not so much about finding the best opening. Just don't play bad ones. You can play all kinds of stuff: English, K.I.A., Open Games, Closed Games, Sicilians, and everything in between. Just don't play unsound garbage.
For an example of unsound garbage, the video the above Roman quote is from is a video on the Sicilian Wing Gambit. It is one of the funniest videos of all time IMO:
"The problem with this Wing Gambit is that you can get activity of the pieces, no doubt about it, but that same activity can be found without sacrificing a pawn. Why would you want to give up a pawn? Well, if it's some personal vendetta against pawns- you don't like your pawns and you want to give them away- then maybe you should take up some other game than chess. Because then you're going to have no pawns and you will not have this problem."
"[Playing the Wing Gambit as white] is like hitting yourself on your leg, or on your ankle, and sometimes getting great satisfaction by missing."
If you can imagine Roman saying the above about your opening, then maybe you should find something better.

An important lesson.

I second the bit below. But if you're going to pick from a pool of "not best but good" openings, I'd recommend picking one that's open (1.e4) and leads to lively piece play.

Lol you are a noob. Rated 2000. Hahha good joke. Learn chess please. As I said I only played 10 games or something and lost only one were my connection broke down. Tomorrow I will write you, 2200 is very easy for me.
It's so refreshing to meet someone so confident in their chess skills on this site.
Please, continue to regale us with stories of your triumph and utter superiority.

Calm down you guys. No need to develop ulcers here.
How about you both just agree I could mop the floor with both of you?

Shut up troll4ever. Your name says it all. How about you take your little 1300 rating and go find a server where they offer tic tac toe. You're too dumb for chess.
I was joking bro, Sheesh. Calm down a little it's just a game.

Why don't YOU calm down you frustrated little 1300 rated simpleton. I didn't even know the ratings went that low!
I read the joke. By far the most intelligent comment in the two last pages.

What if he studies for ten and a half hours a day?

Lol@ Solipsist_1. My U.S.C.F. rating is 1821 and I am a young player (junior in high school) so I still have plenty of time left to improve. I don't really give a crap about online ratings, and neither should anyone, but I have always sucked at blitz and bullet. Does that make me an incompetent human being? Not really. Certainly not enough to warrant you making obnoxious comments on this thread.
If I had a nickel for every 1800 rated dumb kid who claims he's going to be really strong when he gets older, I would be a BILLIONARE! You'll probably peak out in the 1900's then quit playing otb tournaments making up some nonsense excuse. The fact is, you don't have the brainpower to improve significantly.
Forget online ratings, your OTB rating sucks as well, assuming you're not exaggerating about that also, which you are probably doing. 1821 is super weak. I'm 2245 OTB and close to being an FM. You'll never get anywhere near that strength even if you study for ten hours a day for YEARS!
if you really are 2245, why aren't you titled?
