What is the best way to learn openings I don’t play often? - Chess Forums

For my main openings (the ones I play almost always) I have courses and other sources (such as YouTube videos), but how should I study the openings that I play occasionally (for example, in blitz, to surprise my opponent or against my friends, just for fun)?

Because I don’t think buying a course would be necessary since I wouldn’t even play the openings that much, but what are some other ways to learn the openings I would play occasionally?

Oh, I mean there is YouTube videos, but sometimes they don’t show all variations.

Just find in the database the name of a good player who plays the opening you are interested in. Then go over all their games in that opening. If you don't like the way they play it, find a different name and repeat.

You can browse on master database or yt channels ( Hanging Pawns, or Saint Louis Chess Club have lots of in-depth materials that you can rely on)

Also look for different variations of your main openings; it can surprise your friend more than you think!
