I still play it because I almost never face the Panov...
So does it not bother you that your opponents could play it, even if they won't? It's the same thing with unsound gambits - is it not an issue that your opponents could play the refutation, even if they don't know it? I guess it's a question of psychology or philosophy
@poucin Sure I could find lines that aren't so much fun playing, but nothing worth giving up the opening over even if I faced them all the time. @littleLizz said s/he would quit the Caro-Kann if everyone played the Panov - I'm fairly convinced there aren't any lines that my opponents could play against me that would convince me to give up the opening, regardless of how often it was played.
That would be a pity to give up an opening just because of one line.
There are several set up for black to face Panov attack.
In every defence u can find lines which u don't like, well that's life u don't play all alone.
U have to adjust and find a something u like.
