2.Daeth's Opining

3.The sicilian (2.c3!! and black resings)

The silician is actually good

SansTheGreat

The best opening - Queen's sacrifice

SeaDeFault

yeah and 2.c3 is not even the best move in the Sicilian so AKJett likely knows nothing about what he's talking about

FunWasTaken

The Scandinavian defense is useless against the attack pawn gambit! The attack pawn is just too strong for black to be able to take it. Just from this opening white gets a winning position without losing any pieces!

So clearly you need to improve your opening knowledge. Please familiarize yourself with the ramifications of a great system before criticizing it publicly.

If 2.c3 is all that people played, I'd be playing the Sicilian!

I avoid the Sicilian because of 2.Nf3 and 3.d4!

You are describing the Bongcloud's criticizers, not the traits of the opening itself.

Are you implying that age has a direct correlation to chess play?

He may have been thinking of the Scandinavian Bongcloud:  1. e4 d5, 2. ed Qxd5, 3. Ke2.

No, it has direct correlation to common sense.  My wife is a high school teacher, and even she will tell you that the average teenager today completely lacks common sense!

Simple instructions like "Write a paragraph describing how you think Juliet felt emotionally in Act II" and all they do is look at the teacher dumbfounded and when they don't have their work when it is due, they say BS like "You didn't tell us what we needed to do!".  And this is not 1 person saying this.  80+ percent of the class uses this cop-out!

In her Latin class, they are stupid enough to try to cheat by using Google Translate, which does not translate Latin to English or vice versa properly!

So no, age does not equate to chess skill.  Age equates to common sense, something that anybody that claims that the Bongcloud is sound lacks!

Well, I accredit much of my success so far in my chess career to the Bongcloud opening, and seeing as I have won many games with this dangerous weapon, surely it is practical then.

Internet blitz shows no validity to such a claim.  You can win in internet blitz and bullet with any BS, including 1.f3, 1.a4, etc.

Do you have better than a .500 record with it either Over the Board (FIDE, USCF, BCF, etc) or a legitimate correspondence chess site, like ICCF, and have played it a minimum of 30 times (the minimum number by definition to be considered statistically significant) against 2000-rated opposition or higher?  White on average scores 54 percent in chess, so anything under 50 percent for White sucks!

If not, the claim is bogus!

I have beaten Computer 10(!!!) with the Bongcloud and my friend recently beat Hikaru-bot with it as well.

Bots don't count!

Play 30 games against players 2000+ either over the board in a classic time control, like Game in 2 hours, or on ICCF, and score above 50 percent.  Only then try to make the claim.

And with how many fools I see on this site unable to figure out percentages, it is (Wins + (Draws/2) / (Total Games), so 12 wins, 12 draws, and 6 losses would be 60 percent (18/30).

You need to score at minimum 15.5 points in 30 games to claim over 50 percent!

Very well. I am challenging YOU to a 30 game correspondence match where I am White every game and play the Bongcloud. I will not score 50% against you. I will score about 100%!
