The second worst first move is obviously 1.e4? I mean, seriously... what are you going to play next? 2. d4? hah! (1...c5 obviously refutes... obviously.) The pawn is left out to dry in open space shriveling, and cowering in fear of (black) vultures ready to utterly destroy it on a whim. Moves such as 1...Nf6!!! or 1.d5!!! would surely lead to a forced mate in 6 (7 if white is having a good day!) or at the very least, scorn white for life! As for the worst possible first move, its obviously 1. d4??? I mean, you can't even do the four move checkmate!
