looks pretty interesting. in that game you guys both gave away a lot of pieces for free, but it looks like it might work in you just look out for traps and keep all of your pieces safe and protected.

i need some openings shown to me would you people mind posting on my forum http://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-openings/someone-explain-openings-plz ?

Maybe it's just me, but Black looks better.

White is down a pawn and has doubled pawns with no compensation.

It may just be me, but after move 14, I feel like Black is better. White is down a pawn and two of the remaining ones are doubled, with no compensation.

I always begin with 1. e4. I usually jump into a Ruy Lopez of Four Knights opening but I'm going to start playing around with some other, less popular e4 openings. I'm getting bored with the Ruy and something about moving Bb5 to threaten the knight seems a waste of time. When someone sends their bishop to g4 to threaten my knight I usually just ignore it and just continue to advance my position.

I prefer the English c4 opening as white. As black i prefer the sicilian instead of Ruy Lopez. Grunfeld if the opponent plays d4.

I'd like to respond to bat girl

my position is better

look at moves

i sacrificed my knight on move 12 so i could force his own into a worse position with my pawn

he could have gone for my bishop on move 3.  with f6 but i would have sacrificed for even better position... look at h7, my knight and my queen

another favorite of mine is the orangutan (my psycologist's specialty opening since yesterday) it stops erik's quick castle cold

and i need help with execution my end games are terrible

Daemon, that is not the orangutan.  That is "Grob's Attack".  The Orangutan is 1.b4?!  As a beginner, I highly suggest you play e4 and d4 openings :).  It is better for you to learn openings principles instead of specific opening lines.

These principles are things like:

  • Develop towards the center
  • Don't move a piece more than once
  • Develop knights, then bishops
  • Castle

As white I love to play the Fried Liver Attack, or if they dont go for that, the Giuoco Piano.  As black I play 1...e5 against 1.e4 and the Nimzo-Indian against 1.d4

"look at h7, my knight and my queen"

Do you mean d7??

after 14...g6  15. BxN  NxB, white is left a pawn down with no compensation and in possession of a target on c3.

How do you guys memorize all these names.for example e5??

plz tell me how

remember - don't focus on openings! focus on good opening PRINCIPLES.

batgirl my mistake when i mentioned h7 i was talking about several moves back and blacks h7 pawn
Avatar of Daemon_Panda
and I'm srry about the orangutan mistak,e yes it was played on the kings side not queens.
Avatar of weixi

seems that no one plays e6 against e4 but me.   i play d4 for white because i hate sicilian

"i play d4 for white because i hate sicilian"

And some people reply to 1. e4 with the Sicilian simply because they hate the Spanish Torture.

What goes around, comes around, I reckon.
