FIDE Chess Events

Hi Guys,

Thinking of organizing a FIDE rated event next year and was unsure of what expenses are involved. Can someone please help me out here? Would especially like to know how much the venue would cost?

Sorry Conor missed your post untill now. It depends on where you are thinking of running it. Galway hotels will be cost prohibitive and you would have to book well in advance, you could always ring one or two just to get a cost base, athlone may be cheeper but probably not by much, You could talk to John Mc about the college ?

Thanks Ron, would like to keep it Ballinasloe based if at all possible but if more money can be made in other venues i would consider it.. That said there will more than likely be a Midlands Weekender in early 2015, and possibly other competitions throughout the year.

are you a registered arbiter?? you should find one, cos they can be expensive
