Ugh, I live there. Don't remind me.

They arn't insulated, however they are high voltage.

I was hoping for something more caustic.  Can't be Conquistador.

Every woman in Michigan is drop dead gorgeous.  The people of Detroit are probably the best drivers in the country.  I love Unions!

I dreamt I saw Joe Hill last night

alive as you and me...

Nice reference. I wonder how many got it. Now, let's move on to Eugene Debs.

Don't blame yourself. I wasn't quick enough! Your edit was funny anyway.

I just can't help myself.  Telephone poles are a perfectly acceptable term for powerline poles.  The lines aren't insulated.  The photo is of distribution lines.  I guess everything is relative, so arguing about whether or not they're high voltage or not is kind of silly, but transmission power-lines are generally considered high voltage while distribution are not.

Hey Wish, have you ever read Dos Passos' "USA Trilogy"?

ivandh

I guess I should have specified, "insulated from weather and bird crap" not "insulated electrically."

ivandh

For that matter, are they really cables?

But isn't the real question, can the cables be considered high-voltage, or even electrical, like they are referred to in some earlier posts? I submit that the cables themselves can't be electrical, even if they may serve as conductors if you connect them to some kind of source. Since you're all in the mood for corrections.

That's the ticket!

Nikola Tesla did it without wires!

HessianWarrior

Yes he did, and he is the true pioneer of the modern electrical distribution throughout the world, not Thomas Edison. A great unsung hero to be sure.
