The seek algorithm is designed to keep ya down.
I don't believe you should have to play folks 100+ below you . Especially when my seek settings are for no more than 25 points below my current rating.
I have the high side set for 400 points above my rating ; but I cant say as Ive ever had the opportunity to try a person 400 points above me....
It seems unfair.
Well in rebuttal to your opinion ; I wouldn't want folks who had 0 to gain to be forced to play me. My high side setting is there just to let the opportunity exist. I actually don't mind or blame higher rated folks ; if they choose not to play me. In fact I understand them avoiding it.
That's the thing though ; the algorithm is forcing me to quite often. You make it sound as if I'm expecting those opportunities ; when in reality I'm not being hypocritical because I leave the high end open.
Its sucks to be paired back to back ; with folks that you fought like hell to get through ; praying you escape with a draw where you actually still lose elo ; on top of the kicker ; which is you practically had nothing to gain if you had won.
And the icing on the cake is daily having to go through getting slaughtered by all those using other means to win. they are Jerks of all ages ; get their kicks from destroying players ratings ; only to get it found out occasionally ; and maybe you get 6 or 7 points being returned if your lucky.
That problem is so prolific here it can't be mentioned. And I believe that's because it truthfully cant be stopped. Personally I don't care if they get caught and banned. That does nothing for those who are being wronged. It needs to be stopped not slowed down.
On custom game settings / or seeking. How strict and or accurate is the actual search ; as compared with the exact parameters you chose?
My personal preferences are anyone 25 points below me or up to 400 points above me.
Id actually play anyone above me period.
So I noticed just today ; that I was playing someone 100 points lower. And I lost ; but that's neither here or there. I was surprised to find that custom seek isn't so custom as I originally thought.
