To me his results haven’t been good enough to be ranked as the best player in the world. He hasn’t been close to win a tournament the last five years (except one Chinese event with opponents in the 2500s). His by far best result in these years was when he finished 1.5 from first in the Candidates, which also was the only event where he had a plus score in five years.
