agreed kasparov was the best player to ever live. Now you might argue Fischer, but even at his peak, more than likely he would of been an easy beat for kasparov.

Yep. Kasparov was so good, I would have bet on him to beat Kramnik in a rematch. To beat Karpov, the greatest tournament player ever, as many matches as he did, and then to have those astonishing "super tournament" victories, puts him in another realm.

As per the thread, I would put my bet with Fischer..given having been undefeated during the one tournament. Badass, indeed. While certainly eclectic, I really doubt Fischer tried his best. With a 185 IQ, he probably enjoyed his cat/mouse antics. A shame he matured into such a huge social ignoramus!
