Shocking. Batgirl's most interesting player was Morphy.
most INTRESTING chess player

Deschapelles, hands down.
Automatons in general are fascinating. For anyone interested (or intrested) in such things, I had published around 30 articles of historical writings on the Turk, Ajeeb and Mephisto.
I also find Prince Dadian of Mingelia to have been quite an intriquing player.
Ah. These are better choices!

Is there any chess player who would raise his hands after a victory? Or use any interesting gesture? Spectators are not excited to see the usual shaking of hands.
There can be no contest as to who was the most interesting chess player. It was one judge Hade Bean, of Chug Water, Wyoming, a cousin of the infamous judge Roy Bean who also used to hang horse thieves without any trial and confiscate any money that was on them at the time - somewhere in what is now Oklahoma (but I'm not entirely sure). The only way the 'thief' could escape the noose was to play a game of chess with him. He was doomed because if he'd never played he'd lose and even if he had, Bean would make the unfortunate man - guilty or not - play blind fold. He was however defeated just the once by an Indian who he shot over the table in 1876 - claiming self-defence.
