Odd Alekhine Statistic

My theory is that he played a long match with a very good player in 1927.
One of those Black losses in 1927 were against capablanca with whom he had a match but...
I just noticed an odd thing about Alekhine.
During the years 1921-1933 almost all of his losses were with white. Normally he loses between 5-20 games each year, and normally only 2 or 3 were with Black. 1927 he had the most losses with black with 4/9.
I wonder why this is... He did draw about 5-10% more games with Black than with white, but that's doesn't account for this.
