For the moment, Ubisoft has no plans to release a new version of Chessmaster. Not profitable enough as they think.
Like many of us my attachement for the Chessmaster franchise is mainly for sentimental reasons, since it has been one of my first silicon chess partner.
But it sure would be a real blast with the new actual personalities added and a face lift.
Nevertheless the last iteration of the program works fine on Windows 7 64-bit, and is still, 7 years later, a very strong, good looking, rich opponent. And as for the new personalities, it's virtualy only a matter of tweaking, since you can create your own personalities in the program.
