Oldest chess-related footage?

Well, the footage below was before the Alekhine-Euwe Match so it should be at least around 1935.

Ever wondered how Capablanca's (the legend himself) voice sound like back then? Here's your ticket:)

There is a silent film call Chess Fever, that was made in i believe 1929.

Nice! Thanks for the info, much appreciatedSmile

Nice, also hearing Max Euwe for the first time :)

For anyone interested the two players talking in Dutch, the player on the left says I don't see any possibility any more to win, I moved my knight here and there but I dont see anything. Off course he is playing against Max euwe :)

Harryhood

That was awesome! Thanks.

The player on the left. The player on the left, meaning Capablanca...

Hellomyoldfriend

No, at the start of the movie the player on the left is playing with Max Euwe, later Capablanca enters and he kind of takes over the game and he sits down on the left, the other player sits then in the middle :)

Ah, I see, sorry!
