Study buddies?

Hello!

So in the next month I am looking for a few training buddies!

I have a serious tournament coming up and I could use some help!

What do I want in my training buddy?

  • I want to play friendly long time control games and review it afterwards (Or Play a Chess.com game if we finish it quickly)
  • I want an Opening study time (Only if you play the same opening as me. Write down here what your main openings are and we can study them together)
  • Endgame Study: I want some interesting Endgame analysis that you have played, or an interesting study by a Grandmaster
  • Positional Chess: I want some good quick and to the point Positional skills!
  • Grandmaster Games: I want to study some strong and instructive Grandmaster games if you want to share
  • Tactics: I want to learn some more tactical patterns, or we can just share fun tactical puzzles together

I will be helping you improving your chess as well.

Here is what I expect:

  • I want to pick a time, for about an hour each day, where we are both online and can share some things!
  • You need to be 1700-2100 Chess.com Standard (I am not consistent. Sometimes I play like a 1700 and sometimes a 2000 online. But OTB, I would be about 1700-1900
  • You will need to be avalible from January 10-14, because I will be doing a home chess camp then, so a perfect time!

Just a few more things. I will be having multiple buddies, so if you do not meet all of the requirements, I will still take you. The times I will be avalible is from 9AM-5PM (Sydney Time) And if you are interested, please send me a friend request! Then we can discuss more there, like the Opening Study for example. If we play the same Opening or Openings, then we can study together.

The Deadline for a study buddy will be in 48 hours so please be quick :)

Thank you!

Hey, I tried to send you a message and friend request for this, but the site said you aren't accepting either of them.

Hey man, I have tons of Fisher, Tal, Botvanik, Petrosian, Rubinstein and more famous player games randomly installed on my stockfish clipboard thingy and I could send you some of the good ones, but I'm not going to be active on 10-14 Jan. I have also learnt quite a few positional ideas from my coach, but I can't really saw that it's quite a few since there are many that I don't know yet and I haven't really mastered many of them yet (especially certain positional sacrifices). Although, I'm not sure if a training buddy will be best for you. Maybe you should do private coaching or play some serious-ish matches against a strong player and later ask him what you did wrong, I highly doubt a 1700-2100 player will help you as much as those guys will.

@JakeTarallo, just sent you a friend request :)

@MASS_ATTACKER, I know you are considering playing U16s. I am sorry I will have to decline yours

DavidJMarsh

and I will be getting private coaching

MASS_ATTACKER

Oh I can play the u/18s since it would make for a better challenge, I can have games that are more worth analysing and I could have more potential rating points to steal.

DavidJMarsh

The thing is I could also switch to U18s. I am still deciding whether I should

I am too low :( and I will not probably be available on these days due to a tournament and exams.
