Aronian and Svidler don't seem to me as being good candidates. Yes, they're very strong (especially Aronian) but they are a bit inconsistent. I think Kramnik, Caruana or even Grischuk might face Carlsen in the next WCC.

Caruana and griskchuk are not in the cadidates tournament, they have no chance of playing carlsen in 2014. Maybe Kramnik but he seem to be on a decline,

Yeah you're right. Sorry. But even so, generally speaking, Caruana and Grischuk might  be WCC challengers in the future.

Actually they do have a chance if Anand retires which I think is likely.

Yes Caruana's time is coming.

I like Topalov, Grischuk, Karjakin and Aronian for such a Match. Even Kramnik has nice experience for a championship match.

Ok everyone we all know that there is almost no chance of anand winning the WC. He has to win game 10 11 and 12 to reach the tie breaks. So what will he do? will he

A give up on playing chess

B Win the Candidates and face Magnus agains

C Just play a few tournaments here or there, and basically play a bit but not full time

what do you think? i believe that there are only three people in the candidates who could win and take the crownfrom carlsen

#1 Levon Aronian. the #2 and very strong if he can get consistent play

#2 of course Valdamir Kramnik, he might be able to beat carlsen out.

#3 Peter Svidler, he could do it. he beat carlsen before, and he can do it again. He is the other one who i think could do it.

What do you think?

Anand will focus on the candidates after this loss. I say so not just because I am one of his many die hard fans, but his experience and the sting of this loss make him a very strong contender for the next WCC challenger. And also dont forget that the reason he is down on rankings is because he did not play many tournaments, and not because he is aging.

He still has a few (last) years in him to remain at the very top of the chess world.

My other bet would be on levon aronian. He too is young, brilliant and almost as carefree as Carlsen. Kramnik would be my third and last choice.

1-Anand,Kramnik and aronian

2-Andreiken

Andreikin is not among best players at all and never was; you can easely dismiss this choice.

Not A. Not B. Not C.

His career in chess (although he is consider top rank, but physically he is weaker) is practically finished. It's time for him to start a new career: his family.

i think Anand will play for a couple of years in super tournaments and then retire. kramnik or topalov will be challenger next year.

so basically A. Give up playing chess, (at least at a profetional level) is what you are saying?

He's not a super strong standard player, but he's an exceptionally good player in blitz. I think if he were to reach tiebreaks with Carlsen he would have the upper hand. Just look at his blitz games at the World Cup!

come on andreikin is good enough but to talk of him beating carlsen is absurd.

He can't give up playing chess. Chess is his life. But he will not pursue it as a career. Well, I don't have to say everything in detail. Afterall, it's his life, not mine. He can do anything with it.

I am completely aware of Andreikin being a strong blitz player, but he wouldn't be able to even level the score. Nevertheless, Carlsen has a plus score against him even in blitz.
