I like Morphy. He played the king's gambit most of the time so looking at his games helped to learn it.
what's your favorite chess player and why?
I like Hikaru. He is so funny!!! I recommend to watch his streams. I also like levy, he is also very funny and a great teacher.
Petrosian and Reshevsky were my choices for a long time, but I've recently found a new favorite: Pia Cramling. One of about 40 women to achieve the GM title, her positional style of play is somewhat reminiscent of my former favorites. Away from the board, she is soft spoken and humorous, but at the board she is relentless in destroying her opponent's position and hopes.
Pia's husband is also a GM -- Juan Manuel Bellón López -- and their daughter Anna Cramling is a WFM.
Rubinstein. Why just look at his games. Also Giri.
Rubinstein is definitely up there for me.
I really enjoy watching Levy, also known as Gotham Chess. His videos have been incredibly helpful in improving my Chess skills and being quite enjoyable to watch.
