But I wrote it all down if you took time to make sure early that I wasn’t trolling and just take a few other looks. No my fault you don’t pay attention to details.

I can't  say for sure (of  course), but if anyone  were to become world champion today, it would have to be Fabiano  Caruana or Maxime-Vachier  Lagrave. I'm  not too sure about MVL  but have faith in Caruana.

Golden_Marmoset
Yes Fabi is really good and has a chance. Good pick.
Hypnoticdemon

Thanks, bro. Who is your pick?

Golden_Marmoset
Well I don’t know; of the super GMs Fabi but Magnus beat him in the last championship. So maybe I’ll go with Firouzja.

So here’s the leader board

For themselves 5

Firouzja 2

MVL 1

Fabiano 1

Anand 1

Kid in the top hundred 1

Magnus will hold the title till he dies 1

Carlsen is still a young man, he could last at number one for another 15 - 20 years, unless a new GM comes along that can beat him. So far there are a lot of contenders but no one that comes near his level. When he starts to lose a few games it could indicate that he's heading downhill. It would be interesting to learn who's been number one for the longest time because Carlsen could beat it. .

Firouzja has the best chance I say 10 - 15 years away still happy.png

I am guessing Lasker would be in the running for the longest, he was probably number 1 for years before he took the title, held on to the title for a long time and then remained an elite player for years after (Lasker had a lot of distractions at various times giving up chess).

Lasker got the title in 1894 at the age of 25. He kept the title for 27 years till 1921. He also placed third in the Moscow international tournament in 1935 at the age of 66.

He also had a Ph.D. in mathematics and made some contributions to the field.

Pretty awesome.  How about giving us a link to some of your articles or FIDE page so we can learn more about you?

I was just reading that after 30 a person's chess goes downhill, at least at that level, so if he's over 30, then he's got a problem that he can't do anything about. It seems like he's getting stronger because I think he's at 2878 now, when he was at 2848 for a long time. He's pushing 3000 which I don't think anyone else has been.  Although maybe I have my facts wrong.
