8x12 Chess: Bible Edition
punish the attacker cos they chose the wrong king I think
Thinking about it, if I wanted to keep it on the biblical tradition, the wrong king/shepherd would betray its folk.
So, after the first check, he would reveal himself and switch sides. So, the white Fake Shepherd would become a black sheep/pawn, while the black Fake Shepherd/King would become a white sheep/pawn.
Does it make sense?

oh yeah i guess that makes sense, im just not much for reading the bible so i forget most of the complicated metaphors and symbolism stuff like that
Of course. But I want to get this right.
I am still thinking about the best option.
Maybe checkmating the wrong king would make the attacking player just lose material?
If the Fake King was in their starting position when transformed, wouldn’t they just flip into promotion?
Of course. But I want to get this right.

Yeah. Maybe the piece moved to checkmate it ends up being destroyed?

That could be an option.
How would you feel about a chess variant with two kings, one real and one fake?
Both kings have a mark underneath regarding their identity.
This chess variant was inspired by the Biblical story of Judas betraying Jesus.
Chess pieces represent Biblical symbols of the story.
King = Shepherd
Queen = Goat
Rook = Ram
Bishop = Dog
Knight = Donkey
Pawn = Sheep.
So far so good. Now I have a big problem.
What should happen when the wrong king is checkmated?
1) Punish the attacker
2) Punish the defender
3) None
4) Anything else.
