I play this game all the time with random people on the custom variants page, I'm thinking of an informal "rating system"

White pawns capture the same, and can move when the pawn in front of it is captured

to the left or to the up (from that pov)

Pawns move and capture up and can't promote

Added a white pawn to make things slightly fairer

Anyone have any suggestions?

so are they just a wall for defense, while the knights jump up the specially crafted lines for themselves?

yeah, pawns are just defense

black breaks through by stacking rooks and taking a pawn

nah i realised that attacking the base means that the other pawns wont be defending the pawns
