We’ve been developing Capto Chess, a new chess cards variant designed for players who enjoy classic chess strategy and board games similar to chess. The core rules stay the same, but the game adds a tactical card system that creates deeper planning and more dynamic positions without relying on luck. You still play on a standard board. The cards simply expand what’s possible by introducing controlled tempo swings, new defensive ideas, and creative ways to build initiative.

Examples include extending a piece’s movement for a single turn, adding a temporary defensive resource, or gaining short-term momentum when timed correctly. The strongest player still wins, but the gameplay feels sharper, faster, and more flexible than traditional chess or other chess variants.
