Trice’s Chess was big 2005-2010 with its own playing site, boards and pieces, tournaments, even Fischer agreed to play Karpov in a match. The strongest players meet on a Discord server where tournaments pay $100 for each game won. Chess dot com buries it deep and does nothing to increase awareness of this awesome variant. The website TricesChess dot com has the best 100 games ever played by players like GM Susan Polgar, Larry Kaufmann, Grandmasters from Iceland, IMs from Russia, even two games from Fischer himself. There’s still tournaments in Cincinnati and Philadelphia.
