Chess Invaders
The game is still in development so they other pieces are not finished yet. Add the knight might a bit too hard yet
Magic increases ultimate damage, the effect is shown by the symbol in the calculation given in each ultimate (aktive skill)
Fury is a range attack which allows to jump anywhere and deals randomly to any of the neighboring squares damage. You can upgrade the number of affected squares.
Wow, have you actually reached wave 23? Can you share a screenshot or something, I find it hard to believe. I was only able to reach wave 8 after so many games...
I think this is a great game, I most oftenly lose because I am greedy for the charges and I try not to use them, but also I had several cases which I think must be worked on? Case 1: My Queen sits on G5, an Enemy rook sits on H5 (so we are on the same rank/row), I attack the rook from the side and the rook jumps on F5 and attacks - takes my heart ... :/ I think, if this is intended then this makes the game somewhat luck based, no? I personally prefer it not to, or at least not to be in that way - so rook doesn't jump on the square and attack back right after I attacked it... :/ There was another case when a pawn with 2 hearts was sitting on B3 I believe, I attacked it from the side - C3 lets say, and the pawn jumped to A2 instead of A3 (I believe I read somewhere that the piece jumps to the oppsite side of where the it is attacked, no?), and right after that jump to A2 its turn came and it moved forward - so in other words it moved 2 moves forward before before my move came... :/
Then, how difficult will it be to see Leaderboards? becase when I read bear2playchess made it to wave23 and beyond it made me want to play the game again so much that I played dozen of rounds, more than 30-40 minutes I think. Seeing who reached what wave is stimulating. But if you do so, I believe you would need to let players type their player name before the game starts - like in amongus () so people don't have to go through the frustruating process of registration.
One other question what benefit does the player gets if they register an account? If you could add another type of reward which players get after every finished game (meaning after they lose) - like super spell that gives you +1 heart if you activate it - like spells they live and stay for every playround (unless you use them up) no matter how many times you die and lose the game. I think that will give another motivation to weaker players like me, to play more rounds..
I believe that's all I have.
P.S. There is a more dedicated chess club specifically for chess variants, that has its own forum: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/variants and https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/4-player-chess you can post there too and I think it be better to add a photo of the game in the post as well for people to get a quick idea of the game. And then there also is a discord https://discord.gg/STZXdrv4

I’m currently looking for playtesters for my game Chess Invaders which is some kind of chess variant.
Try it here: chessinvaders-production.up.railway.app (copy to browser)
What is it?
It’s a turn-based roguelike inspired by chess, but mixed with elements from tower defense, crafting, and even a bit of space-invaders-style pressure.
You’ll still recognize familiar ideas from chess, but the game introduces:
What I’m really curious about is how this feels for experienced chess players vs newer players:
Does it feel strategic in a “chess-like” way?
Is it intuitive or confusing from a chess perspective?
Does it scratch a similar itch, or feel like a completely different game?
If you’re interested in trying something a bit experimental and sharing your thoughts, I’d really appreciate it.
