Since there is more emphasis on the center in this game, I'd imagine that the pieces have slightly different values. One thing that comes to mind is that knights might be slightly stronger than in actual chess, given that it's a short range piece and great at controlling the center (and getting to the endgame where knights are generally worse than bishops is unlikely as one king usually makes it to the center before the endgame).
