martin0 vs the world: World analysis thread

d4 is ok by me; adages like Fischer's "best by test" do not apply in Chess World-ly Events.
Vote d4.

Just to get this rule front and center, because of its wording, Rule 2:
Rules:
Event chess starts like a normal chess game with 2 additional rules:
- Each player may once/game start an event during his turn before making a move (Just say "start event").
- A player may not capture more than 2 pieces that are not pawns before starting an event (This is to make sure both players need to start an event).
Note that each player starting one event means a game will become a combination of 2 events.
Rule 2 is stating that if we capture 2 pieces (other than pawns), then we can't capture yet another piece, a 3rd piece, until we announce Event.
It's a tricky rule, and can throw things off, so generally, because of it, each side likes to get their Event announced early in the game.
Personally, so that things will be different from the last game, I'm thinking we wait a little longer to announce Event. Maybe have things on the verge of a possible "big" trade down… to really throw a wrench into things.
The last game had horrible Events. The one I hated most was Drunken Bishops!
It was like having extra Knights.
Anyway, just thinking out loud while we wait for Martin to reply with his first move.
