As any checkmate goes (except amazon),the king must help for the checkmate.The princess and the king should be close together to collaborate.
King opposition is the way to force the king away from the center and to the edges of the board.Do that by opposing the enemy king diagonally with one square in between with the princess like above.That way,a key 2x2 area on the king is controlled and the king is forced back.
Once the king is on the edge,its pretty easy,just give a few checks and the king is forced to the corner.
