It is a matter of how few people play variants.
And the programming resources it would cost.

You can’t play variants on the app. I’m pretty sure you can on the website on a browser.
In app if you create a club then start a tournament and x you can play varients

you can do it on the web. Tho maybe we can create a shortcut to the variants page in the app like with ChessTV, leagues, etc. etc.
