I resign, you can mate on the next move. Thanks for the game!

Thanks evertVB.  Let me know anytime if you would like to play another game. You have good ideas for new and interesting pieces. (But I know bowling green and our other game may already keep you busy). vickalanhappy.png

Interesting, but whatever happened to the actual bulldog?

This game of Bulldog chess didn't have any bulldogs. I guess it's a variant of a variant, where the name lost it's meaning.

Some people call the 10x8 board a Capablanca board (like in Capablanca chess).
But this game had an angel and joker, so it's a big deviation of Capablanca chess.

So sometimes I just like to call any unusual game of chess on a 10x8 board Bulldog chess.

In the future, I would like to play Bulldog chess with more bulldogs (like 4 or even 10 per side). Your own pieces can move right over a bulldog, so it might lead to some interesting play.happy.png
