Normal Chess is useless as well. It does not help you to improve or learn Shogi. Or international Draughts.

Bughouse and crazy house, King of the hill, Fischer random, and the other chess are useless. I doesn't help you improve or learn, sometimes you will forget somethings and think about the fun games and not the real one and that really distracts you. Useless. It is fun though.
