Missellaneous Variants

Sort:
HolographWars

This is a forum about all other variants that have not yet been introduced, like Bulldog, Capture the Flag, and Infinite. This forum currently will have variants not well known, and maybe for a reason!

HolographWars

1. Marxist Chess

Pawns on the first rank can jump to third, just like pawns on the second rank can jump to fourth. A pawn on the first rank moving to second cannot jump and move to fourth, its right is gone. Whoever promotes a pawn and keeps the queen for five turns first wins! In effect, the winner has freed itself form the communist government and now has a constitutional monarch. This game was created by Apotosaurus.

2. Republican Chess

These two games are by Apotosaurus. The goal is to capture all other pieces.

I said rare variants

3. Democrat Chess

This time, this game was created by me. All kings move in the same way, but you must have a mod. You have to choose one of the kings to be a "president". A president can move around normally. You win by capturing the opponent's president. This is a new variation of capture the flag.

HolographWars

I prefer the Democrat chess best, Marxist 2nd, Republican too boring

HolographWars

It is capture the flag

Reciprocal chess: The 4 pieces of bishop, knight, rook, and queen only capture any other piece in that group by moving as though the piece doing the capture is the same kind as the piece being captured.

All non-capturing moves are the same as in standard chess. All checks, and all captures either by a pawn, of a pawn, or by a king are also the same as in standard chess.

For example, 1. g3 b6 2. Bg2 Rxg2 (moving like a bishop) 3. Nxg2 (moving like a rook). White can't play 3. fxg2, 3. gxg2, or 3. hxg2, because pawns don't move that way, even though it is a black rook on g2. If instead 1. g3 b6 2. Bg2 Nf6, white can't capture 3. Bxa8 because that isn't a rook move.

Monster pieces, I guess they are called that because they are so strong (Actually its only a "monster" queen that someone at a club described, but it could apply to B, N, & R also. I don't like changing king or pawn moves)

Any major or minor piece, other than K's & P's, can move twice per turn. Only that one piece at a time, not moving two different ones. For example, 1. g2-g3 Ng8-f6-g4 2. Bf1-h3xg4.

A turn ends after a piece's first move, it doesn't continue with the second one, if the first part is a capture or check...
