Chess Vets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2016. https://www.facebook.com/chessvets.org
Join our Chess Vets club! We are currently activating our Chess.com club again.
We offer ongoing multi-day tournaments.
We currently only offer our weekly live tournaments only on LiChess, but plan on moving them to Chess.com in the near future and separate the ELOs for more balanced play.
On our FB page https://www.facebook.com/ChessVets you will see an event page. You DO NOT need to be a veteran to join, just a LiChess.org Chess Vets team member. Warning. This 5 round Swiss G/5 inc 5 tournament averages 1800 ELO. We even have candidate Masters who play here. So come only if you have thick skin. No jerks or cheaters tolerated.
We hold a voice chess club Zoom meeting 1 hour prior to the Open tournament. Meet other US veteran chess players that reside all over the US. We post results for our weekly live tournaments on this FB page. The Zoom link can be viewed on the event page at start of meeting.
Want to earn money? Are you an informative >1700 ELO chess player that can be entertaining? We want to pay you to do a 15-20 minute chess related video. Why? We want to highlight the awesomeness of US veteran chess players to the world on our YouTube channel! You choose of video topic. Submit it for our review. If we use it, we will pay you $15 and contract you for future videos. Win-Win. https://www.youtube.com/@ChessVets.
You can help our ongoing mission of donating sets to deployed US troops and our communities by viewing, subscribing and sharing to our YouTube channel. We hate traditional fundraising.
