While a normal conversation about Music tends to circle around the same genre (i.e. “if you like x, then you might like y….”), the moves in DJ Chess are designed to expand the conversation, pushing into different genres and styles— perhaps a Soul song can meld into Jazz, which can meld into Samba, then Funk, then Hip-Hop, Alternative, and Punk, which turns to Ska and then back into Soul, which goes in a off in a Blues direction before turning Psychedelic and closing with some Folk Guitar…. It all just depends on who’s playing.
