Is there a place where I can practice with some friendly folks?

I got the idea that I'm not improving in chess as well as I expected, because I don't socially interact with other folks. Do people seriously need others to improve? There are self taught candidate masters, ChessNetwork, who taught themselves how to play and came so far from it. People like him convinced me that I didn't need others to improve, but I'm starting to realize that I don't have many chess friends that actually loves the game and like to discuss about how we played the game such as: mistakes, blunders, best moves, etc.

If I do need a community to improve, then where do I start? GothamChess says that he has a community where there are a lot of friendly people who play chess and loves to talk about it, but are there others like this? I honestly don't know which forum to post this on, so sorry if I messed it up.

You can play with me if you want, but I am only 1150 rated in blitz.

If you like we can play a non-rated game, and discuss the options while we play.
