1600 is above average

Average what? Online ratings? Chess.com ratings? People who play chess like it was a family board game ratings?

Cos for chess ratings in real life, before the FIDE messed it all up with their constant changes, the average rating of a club chess player in France, was 1600 Elo FFE (when you could not get FIDE rated U2000).

Plus there was no ratings below 1000.

It's simply crazy how gents go think online stuff, under aliases, with commercial companies ratings and flatering useless ranks (yo am legend....) and titles (Joe dah streamer iz ooooops some "GM" LOL) would be anything more than a screen of smoke.

Everyone stops improving at a certain rating. Whether that's 1600 or 1200 or 2000 depends on the person. And getting better after that requires a different approach to studying or playing, maybe watching videos, learning openings, working on your tactics or strategies, pawn structures, endgames, etc. Good luck!
