A new name and a new agenda for Palestine chess on this site!

"This is an Important message to all our members!

During 2012 there have been three separate groups playing under the Palestine flag, namely:

Team Palestine

Team Palestine 1

Team Supporters of Palestine

During 2012, the first group was (and still is ) playing in the World League, the second has been playing in the Asian League (almost concluded), while this group, made up of our many international supporters so far has been limited to playing in unofficial events on the chess.com site.

Now the time has now come to change this, so that everyone who loves Palestine and wants to represent it on the chessboard can do so directly under the national flag. So we are doing three things:

1.    The name has been changed to Palestine United and the group will be promoted as the official Palestine group for all purposes and activities on the chess.com site.

2.    Everyone will be welcome to join us here, both international supporters, as well as the many Palestine nationals who make up the membership of Team Palestine and Team Palestine 1.

3.    Those two groups gradually will be wound down, and we are hoping that all their members will soon join us here  in Palestine United.

This will be a big step forward for Palestinian chess, and we feel sure we can rely on your continuing support. And you can also help in a tangible way, by spreading the word amongst your friends, and encouraging everyone who loves Palestine to join this new and exciting  group!
