a thread for the mutings

unfortunately, i feel compelled to start this so we, the members, can help inform each other when the dreaded auto-bot mutes someone.

i'm sure you have seen it-blank pages in a topic you have been following. threads seemingly vanished. it is a daily occurrence, it seems. for those unaware, the pages of missing posts represent the "hidden" posts of the muted person. 

so, until cc gets its act together regarding the automation, we can help each other navigate the proverbial waters here when people are muted, especially since there is no notification when members are muted or threads gone (removed is how it is shown). 

perhaps this topic could also yield informative suggestions for the site moving forward, because, the current format is quite lame.

So what is the plan when there is no post?

All hands on deck, fire drill? Pictures in the post office lobby?

Well I won't need to give you a penny for your thoughts then.

I suggested to Erik after a recent banishment of mine that instead of banning the poster, ban the post. Just don't allow the computer to post the offending post unless the poster modifies the text.

He thought it was an interesting idea but as long as things/people keep disappearing, we'll know nothing has been done.

perhaps you could be a little more specific?

as in, what does "no post" mean?

the red banner zaps the post and everything written is lost, so no option to edit. also, half of the times i've received it it made zero sense as there were no "bad" words. 

for consideration of staff, wollyhood has recently been muted. whatever the reason, this is a perfect example of how automation is failing. 

every post and every topic from her is gone. that it may be temporary is unacceptable, as even erik has conceded it has gone too far at times. 

I blocked and reported the "other f169,"  but then snorted a triple dose of Ambien last nite. Apparently he hacked my acct at 3:00a.m. and has been sending selfies to my followers. This morning found a full ashtray of butts(I only smoke tobac pipe), and empties from a brand of beer I cannot even stand to smell.

now spudnik is muted.

hel-lo, STAFF. where are you? is there any progress on changing the automation to where it will be consistent with YOUR rules here?

this ........ "function" has been shown to you by many for at least a month to not be in line with what is allowed. what is the snag/holdup?
