It works best from the main Chess.com page, when I've tried. I think that mainly happens on the mobile version, which has had that issue since before v3 became the default.
Access Violation!
Hi Martin, no this is on my laptop.
I am just amazed that a company can be so oblivious to its users' wishes.

I don't think it has anything to do with being oblivious. I really don't think the site expected to have such a long transition.
I don't see the access violation message very often, though I also don't switch to v2 very often, but mostly notice it on the mobile version of the site.
I don't understand why people have such a hatred towards this new site. Is it not like a movie that comes from a book? Sure the book will always be better. But that is because it was first. People complain that the movies don't have the right details but what if it was vice versa? I don't really hate the new site at all and don't understand why people have to whine and complain. It's not like its going to destroy your life. Then you precede to blame the company for being bad?
Twice a week chess.com redirects me to the new rubbish site.
When I try to return to the old site, I get "Access Violation".
How can chess.com be SO pathetic?
