You can pay just $5 for a month or $29 for a whole year of gold membership, which makes it ad free in addition to tons of other membership perks. It's totally worth it.

Dear Chess.com community, everyone on this site including the staff, members, and moderators have been very nice to me and have given me a wonderful experience, however the ads here are starting to drive me up the wall. I don't have the time to spend my life on chess.com and pay money just to have no ads. I know the site has to have ads in order for the accounts to be free but I've had some negitave connections with the ads and with the recent lost of my friend on here due to ads I sought to remove them. I found adblock and it's currently free and great. If this goes against the froum rules ( I couldn't find them) then you can silence me. But adblock could have saved my friend from leaving (he's gone for good and I've lost contact) So for everyone out there, if you are sick and tired of the stupid bugged ads that have viruses and are eveywhere ruining your game on live chess or whatever the reason is adblock is free and the answer.
