I hope this is not off topic. I'm going into hospital for some time next month so I will mark myself on vacation. I'm told I may be able to use my android mobile in hospital (bad 3g and no WIFI). If I want to try and play do I set the "Not on Vacation" checkbox in settings or is it for something else. If it turns out not to be playable, or the drugs make me incapable, can I then clear the checkbox to go back on vacation?

DG -- it does let me resign. Problem is simply that abort/resign shows up in menu as only Abort. My first thought -- spent about a decade on FICS -- was that Abort would send an abort request -- something I would do to my brother in a lost situation but something that would be very rude to a stranger. By accident I learned that Abort will give the chance to Resign. So it does let me resign. Just fix the menu listing and it's good.

An update has just been added to MarketPlace, can you all please update your android apps.

works! great job, awsome customer service/support. thanks for your hard work.

It has fixed almost all of the issues, its really nice now and the flow of the application is working better now.

There is only two things,

1) It will always send you to next game, regarldess of setting, I like stay on same game.

2) There is a Toast that appears when the connection does not go through that says "Error Ocurred", if the 3G connection is not that good it will throw that message over and over again, even if the application is not focused, so you will see the message all over your phone and it becomes incredibly annoying.

Other than that the app looks great, I love the changes.

Looks like yourepared theapp properly, complimets. It looks and feels right now when you play. Even life ches works properly now, with gettibgkicked uot.

One thing has not been repaired: it doesnt show the Its your move, warning anymord. Could you please repai de r that too ? Thanks for thehard work

For me, it's worse now. After switching back and forth between analysis mode and normal mode, most of the pieces just disappear. Also, staying in the game after moving does not work (switches to next game instead).

Both issues found on Samsung Galaxy Tab (Android 2.3) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Android 3.2).

Edit: Also reproducible on Galaxy Ace (Android 2.3). After switching back to normal mode, it takes a few seconds for the pieces to disappear. Sometimes the app even crashes afterwards.

I am encountering the same two issues as Sred.  I have an HTC Incredible running Android 2.3.4.

Btw, when i turn my tablet to see the rating of my opponent(cant see that in lanscape) , and rutn back i cant move again. The alert feature is more important issue

The crash is not reliably reproducible, but I installed the catlog app and will post a log as soon as I experience it again.

Hi ya, 

Firstly before it sounds like I'm whinging, thank you so much for such a cool app.  It's easy to navigate and covers just about everything I would want in an app.  Kudos to the dev team for that.

That out of the way I just wanted to hi-light a couple of minor issues I'm having with the latest update (1.9851) which I've just updated to.  

1) Live Play - Everytime I click on this button I get the error "you must set up a password at Chess.com".  I wonder if this is anything to do with me logging on via facebook ?

2) Finished Games - I'm currently unable to review my previous games.  When you click on a game, it loads the final position and then pieces disappear and all the pieces that are left become 1 colour.   Pressing the move buttons causes pieces to appear and disappear at random.   Also in the list of finished games the game result "won" or "lost" is not displayed against all games in the list.

3) Current game / Next Game Menu Setting - I have the option "stay in current game after move" selected but it goes to the next game or back to the game list regardless.

4) Notification of move icon in Status Bar is no longer appearing. :(

5) I've also have a couple of "Force Closes" as well.  Something that never happened with the previous version.

Edit:- 6) Back Button at main menu doesn't exit the app anymore.  It just cycles back to the previous opened menu option.  To get out of the app I now have to press the home button.

I have a HTC Desire running Android 2.2.    As I said these are minor issues and I can get round them.   Again thank you to the dev team for providing such a great app.

We know about #1, and the theory is that yes, it's specific to using Facebook connect. (Of course, it still needs to be fixed.) We're working on it now. We're also aware of #3 & #4.

Regarding #5, we are always greatly assisted by any crash-logs you can provide if the app dies ungracefully - especially if it's a consistent thing, easy to reproduce. See here for more details, and thanks in advance if you can help.

I'm creating new tickets to have a look at #2 and #6. Thanks for the report!

Thank you so much for the response.  I rebooted my Phone, just after my previous post and whilst still experiencing the issues above, I haven't had a "Force Close" event happen since then.  Of course if one does I will be sure to try and replicate it and get you a log file.

Hi, a tiny mini glitch; when playing team match game 1 of 2 and win that 1st game, game 2 will automatically start, i cannot move, have to get out and start over. Really not big deal, but you want to know all ;-)

Will the "no alert" problem be resolved? That was real cool feature of app.

Another small one; the name and rating of my opponent are not (completely) visable even though there is enough space to completely write it out

Last small one for now: start a live chess game you get a popup note, but thats unreadable: very light grey, only link is readable & it flahes up shortly
