anger issues

I’ve noticed a huge increase in people playing with anger issues. Typically chess is for the calm and thoughtful; maybe it’s just my luck? People flexing even if they are winning, I don’t know, maybe they are all really 8 year olds. Anyone else notice an increase in rude and angry players?

The pandemic has affected our civility. I heard a segment on the radio last week about children acting out in school. Educators are having difficulties getting children to comply with even basic instructions like, "Let's go to our seats now." Teachers are being verbally abused by their preschool students. They're cursing at the teachers like sailors. The behavior issues are interfering with learning. Students in the fourth grade are having to relearn how to write instead of beginning to learn how to write creatively. I think older people have been less affected because they remember life before the pandemic. Older people didn't have seminal oportunities stolen from them like younger people have.

It only increases at the higher levels because people get mad for giving away winning positions
