Another rant about Stalling Players

I am getting extremly frustrated with the amount of players who stall games or dont make a move for minutes when in a losing position. Since reaching 1000 elo and now getting to around 1300 the amount of players who I report for stalling is higher than the people who play fair. Seriously guys what is the big deal? You understand stalling is unsportsmanlike conduct and it punishes opponents for beating you?! If you lose in chess you are the worse player and you have to blame noone but yourself for that! Dont make me wait and receive a report if you failed to see a queen-king fork! Honestly! In the last 10 games i won like 7 of them stalled! And I know they are not thinking because they have 1 legal move! I think after 3 reports you should get perma-banned!

Fyi: I mostly play 10 min rapid so if people stall it rly sucks

I used to be annoyed by this, but now if it happens, I just start watching a show instead, no point in sitting glued to the screen when the opponent tilts.

But you cant rly, you need to make sure they dont continue playing after 4 minutes. It is unnecessarily stressfull.

Make it so when a piece moves, it makes a sound. Then turn the volume up, and if they move, continue the game.

If you switch the window the sound wont appear, it is not a system sound but rather an application sound. Also I am not rly looking for ways to find it less annoying. If there are 8 minutes left on the clock i dont want to have to find another activity. I came to play chess and not to get trolled upon by every immature bad loser out there. And apparently there are a tone!

Okay, well then just wait. There's always going to be people like that regardless. There's no stopping it, which is kinda sad.

My partner got a 24hr ban for letting the 58sec on the clock run out. They were thinking and didn't realize the time. The ban happened in less than 2 mins from that game ending. They have never let the clock run out. (We both thought it odd how the ban was instant - either a mod in the game or a friend of a mod, either way, someone was abusing their position)

I had a game where the player realized it was a no win, and instead of resigning, they let 5mins 22sec run out. I reported and nothing was done.

This website is frustrating and filled with corrupt mods. I can not wait until another website comes along offering the variations offered here. I don't play normal chess here, only the variations as they are no where else to be played. Anyone with computer knowledge or money looking to invest into something, keep the variants in mind. From the amount of unhappy players here, you will get a lot of people joining.

Your opponent’s time to do with as he/she wishes. You agreed to the time factor when you commenced a game. Respect your opponent.

You sound like a player that when losing, will cry and then will stall in an attempt to be revengeful, and that is why you are making the comments you are making. Maybe if you spent more time playing chess instead of negatively responding to peoples opinions on the forums, you would become a better chess player, and in turn, you would stop crying when losing and stop stalling to get revenge. And don't say you don't do that, because your response on these forums shows that that is exactly the type of person you are.

You say "Respect your opponent", why don't you respect other peoples opinions? I have noticed you commenting on many posts, and not in a way that respects their opinion, but in a way that is dismissing of their opinion. And there are so many posts I have seen with you adding negative comments to, if you deny it, you are a liar.

Some people are here to play chess, while others are only here to negatively comment on the forums, repeatedly.

Today is the first day I have ever commented on a forum, and I have been active here for years, therefore you have nothing to say about me because I am not like you. This post is a one off.

Carca (as in poo) CarcaPoooooo.tts, feel free to reply all you want, I will not respond because I will not follow this post and therefore will have no idea whether you do or don't respond. I don't care what you have to say. Your opinion is of no value to me. I have better things to do ... like play chess. (#Must block CarcaPoo so he can't message me.)

I repeat - Some people are here to play chess, while others are only here to negatively comment on the forums, repeatedly. #CarcaPoo..tts

I look at you CaracticusPotts (CarcaPoo), and I feel sorry for you.

Have a great day happy.png

LOL a whiner and a blocker and  "I won't read your response"  all in one.

Great post for a whine thread.

Festerthetester

The forums are flush with whine.

Pawnstarshinz

If they only have one legal move, why don't you premove your piece and do something else for a few minutes (push ups, read, watch youtube, play and instrument - the list is endless).

I think it's good to not let other people's actions influence your emotional state. Pity them instead, those sort of people don't have any friends because of who they are.

Festerthetester

I'm offended and so are all my imaginary friends.

Even though its bad sportsmanship, your opponent can do what he wants with his time

ExOlsen

Yes, agreed with what FrogboyWarpz said. It is bad sportsmanship by them, but it is their time and if they want to be a **** they can. Just take peace in the fact you are the better person.

The following happened to me EXACTLY ONE TIME and will never happen again - I had mate on the next move, opponent goes into the Big Stall for however many minutes, I lose attention and he makes a move with 0.5 seconds left - my time expires!
